The ecodesign actions carried out include the use of local, certified organic and plant-based ingredients; the elimination of plastics; and the use of recycled materials, which are also compostable or recyclable.

This 2020 we have reached the goal that all our products are carbon neutral.

What is the carbon footprint and how do we calculate it at De la Conca?

The carbon footprint is the amount of GHG that is emitted into the atmosphere directly or indirectly during the life cycle of a product (cultivation, transformation, transport, use and end of use). The carbon footprint is expressed in tons of CO2 equivalent.

At De la Conca we analyze through our Life Cycle Analysis tool, called “TerraMater”, the carbon footprint of our products at all stages of the life cycle; that is, from obtaining raw materials to managing waste at the end of its useful life.

How are we Carbon Neutral?

At De la Conca we want to be an active part in achieving the global climate action goals and for this reason we have opted for mitigating and offsetting our emissions. Through the application of ecodesign, we reduce the environmental impact as much as possible, and we compensate the emissions that we cannot reduce by collaborating in reforestation projects, generation of renewable energies, energy efficiency and protection of biodiversity. In addition, we collaborate with organizations like Plant-for-the-Planet that fight climate change.

In this way, we achieve our goal of being Carbon Neutral by having zero net GHG emissions associated with the life cycle of all our products.
